Richard Ford Award - 2024

In September of 2024, Hoffmeister was awarded the Richard Ford Prize Grant and undertook a 6-week residency at the Museo Del Prado alongside 3 other British artists. The aim of the grant, established in 1976, is to allow artists working with figuration the opportunity to travel to Spain and work from and respond to the collection at the Prado Museum in Madrid. This period of research was profoundly enriching for Hoffmeister’s practise, deepening his interest in collections whilst exposing him to a wealth of culture and allowing for deep contemplation on painting and drawing. All work created during the residency are digitally achived at The Royal Academy and The Museo Del Prado.
